Update or remove pasture

Update pasture

Run the install command again:

curl -fsSL https://packages.cinchapi.com/public/downloads/raw/names/pasture/versions/latest/install.sh | sh

It replaces pasture with the newest release and starts it again. Your models, settings, and pairing stay as they are.

pasture version

pasture version says which version runs.

Remove pasture

pasture uninstall

pasture stops, and no longer starts when you log in. Your models, settings, and archive folder stay where they are.

When pasture moved models away, it lists them first, because without pasture no app lists them. When they fit on the disk, it asks whether to bring them all back:

pasture moved 2 models away, and once it stops, no tool lists them:
  qwen2.5-coder:14b (10.0 GB, away)
  all-minilm:latest (46.0 MB, archive)
Bring them back before pasture stops? [y/N]

Type y to bring them back. Otherwise they stay away, and ollama pull gets any of them again.

Then delete the pasture command:

rm ~/.local/bin/pasture

When pasture downloaded Ollama for you, it linked the ollama command into the same folder. Delete that link too, with rm ~/.local/bin/ollama.

To delete pasture's settings too, delete ~/.config/pasture and ~/.local/state/pasture, and ~/.local/share/pasture when pasture downloaded Ollama for you. Files lists everything pasture keeps.
